About Us

PrivateDataForge — also known as xkjson — is a data workspace that runs entirely in your browser. You drop in a spreadsheet, CSV, or JSON file, clean it, preview it, and export SQL, CSV, Markdown, or formatted JSON. Throughout that work, your file contents never leave your device.

Why we built this

Most online converters ask you to upload your file to a server before they do anything. For a marketing list, a payroll export, or a customer database, that means handing sensitive rows to a third party just to change a format. We think that trade is unnecessary. Browsers are already capable enough to parse, clean, and transform data locally, so we built the tool that way from the start.

What that means in practice

Parsing, cleaning, previewing, and conversion happen in this browser, including in a Web Worker that keeps the page responsive. You can open the site, disconnect your network, and the core workspace still runs. There is no business-data table on our side: we have nothing to store because the rows never arrive here.

Who it is for

Engineers who need a fast file-to-SQL or JSON formatter, and finance, product, and operations teams who need to clean a table and hand it to someone else. The same workspace serves both, with a mode switch instead of two separate products.

What an account does and does not do

Using the workspace does not require an account. An optional account raises the in-browser row limit and remembers your preferences, such as workspace mode and SQL dialect. It stores your identity and preferences only — never your files, tables, or generated output.
